Last week I showed you what happens when you lightly blend silk and wool into a single strand of yarn.
Now, in part two of our silk blend exploration, we show what happens if you keep the silk and wool fibers entirely separate and let the ply tell the story instead.
Meet Wabi-Sabi, a brand new yarn from Alchemy Yarns. Not only does it embody such esoteric notions as serene melancholy and imperfect beauty, but it also has the most unusual presentation of merino I've ever seen.
On Your Mark...
Last Friday marked the opening ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. As the flame was lit, more than 4,000 knitters began their own odyssey as part of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's Knitting Olympics. Each knitter has committed to a personal knitting challenge that must be completed before the real Olympics end on February 26th. To all the brave knitters participating, I wish you strength, courage, and good luck!
As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.
Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums!
P.S. Do you have friends who would enjoy Knitter's Review? If so, don't hesitate to forward this email to them!
Knitter's Review Poll
Two weeks ago I asked if you had a blog, but your answers only told us part of the story. Now I'd like to know if you read knitting blogs?
Participate in our Knitter's Review Poll and you'll see an instant tally of all the votes.
